One day during the three weeks Dad and Mom were gone with Ann to the States, Kristen and I heard a funny sound out the front kitchen window... sounded like... a cat? Looked all around for it, but couldn't find it. When we got near the sound, it stopped. Sounded like it was coming from behind or next to the propane cylinders in the tiny enclosure, but surely it was too narrow for there to be a cat back there, I thought.
Finally...with the help of a flashlight, could barely see the movement of a furry little black thing. It was definitely a kitten! It was 'meowing' like crazy now! We got a stick (don't worry, didn't hurt it) and encouraged it to come out. It shot past us, and was trying to crawl through a hole into the garage. Was too big to fit! Pulled him out and held him away from clawing me all up!

Can you see him?

Got some milk for the skinny thing. Couldn't find out where it came from or if anyone owned it. Katie, Kristen, and I tried to think what we should tell Rachel when she came home. Even worse..what are we going to tell Dad?! (For those of you who don't know, umm, Daddy is not too fond of cats... kittens he normally doesn't mind except for the unfortunate fact that they tend to grow up
into cats! ;)

Aunt Vicki liked it, too, but could't keep it...

Hmmm… Needs a funny caption :D Anyone have good ideas?
While we asked around, English students enjoyed seeing the kitten, and the little Wilhite boys liked it, too. I don't think their daddy wanted it either, though... sigh! :)
That Sunday, Inori's family from Asahikawa came up for their dad to preach for us. They like cats, and decided to come over to see it after church. When we got home, the kitten was not in his box... Hmm... where was he! The big rug on the floor was slid to one side of the living room..like Cocoa had been running! Soon the black kitten came crawling out from under a chair. Its hair was all matted down, and was very wet! I think the poor thing had been chased and been almost licked to death!! Cocoa...! I can't help laughing thinking about it, again. :) It wasn't really in its cutest state to see it's new adoptive family but the Kurodas (Inori's family) liked it anyway and decided to take it. :)
Though it was kind of fun, I don't think we all miss it too awful much. Hee hee! Sorry, to those who love cats! He was cute, though! Later we found that they named it "Koge chan" (kind of like the name "Smokey", though it actually means "burnt" :) ).
So that was one fun interesting thing that happened while our parents were gone. I guess the Lord knew we needed something to take our minds off of missing them and Ann so much. :) Thought you'd enjoy it. Sure was funny to us at times! :) Sorry that it's not very current news! See you later!
